Socoda Group is accelerating its digital transformation with a B2B platform and virtual inventory to meet the needs of distributors and their customers.

In the middle of a transformation, the Socoda Group — a network of more than 200 independent distributors in the construction sector — is investing heavily in digitalization.

The health crisis highlighted how urgent digital transformation has become for many construction companies. Many distributors still operate on traditional commerce models. Among them are a number of Socoda network members.

According to Pauline Mispoulet, Chair of Socoda’s management board, distributors “above all want direct digital interfaces with their own customers, so they can give them access to their stock, their pricing, the ability to place online orders, or request online quotes.”

With flexible, modern, and tailored tools, the Socoda network can digitize more quickly and meet its customers’ specific needs, while maintaining close contact with them.

Socoda chose the DJUST solution to provide a ready-to-go platform for its members who want to launch their B2B e-shop.

As with all distributors, logistics remains a challenge. That is why the DJUST solution will also be deployed for a new stock pooling tool:

“Our challenge is diversity. We now have one conviction: there will be no Socoda centralized platform in the physical sense of the term. We are going to create a kind of virtual central stock”

says Laurent Festor, Socoda’s Logistics Director, who carried out a study on logistics needs. This virtual stock pooling gives each independent distributor visibility into their colleagues’ inventory so they can replenish as needed.

With a virtual central stock, the distributor has access to a very broad supply base — from colleagues, alliances, or suppliers. The goal is to reach the best outcome for the customer faster, without losing the network’s value.
